Adventure Challenge Park - The ACP is comprised of several stations; each designed to promote problem solving, teamwork and communication. The ACP is a hit with school field trips and electives programs but is adaptable to anyone and everyone. In this example, two participants must help their friend over the wall and onto the platform behind. |

Archery It is a learned skill to shoot an arrow... well to hit the target, anyway! We can show you the proper technique and let you practice your sharp-shooting. Archery is very popular with the kids; here we have some school field-trip participants on the firing line! |

Bouldering These aren't your ordinary rocks! These boulders - many larger than an average car - once fell from the face of the mountain above. Now, they form an ideal ground for learning about minerals and the earth, along with offering a fantastic opportunity to do some climbing. Different areas of the boulder field are suitable for different age groups; from children to adults. |
|
Caving Remember those boulders? Another product of the earth's cycle are the fantastic caves. Don your helmets and let's go exploring our network of caves! A good way to learn and have a great time; caving is suitable for everyone! |

Tree Climb This thing must be seen to be believed. This once-pine tree is now our newest attraction; and is by far the most innovative climbing structure around. We have trimmed the excess branches off this 75 foot tree and, with the proper climbing gear, it is perfect for climbing. From the top you can see the NOC and the surrounding area; as we said... it must be seen to be believed! The tree climb is best suited for those with some climbing experience. |
|
Climbing Wall This 35-foot wall is perfect for climbers of all skill levels and is available to nearly all age groups. Our experienced climbing instructors can teach you everything you need to know to be the Spiderman you want to be, all in a safe and controlled environment. All your climbing gear is provided for you. This one is a hit with schools and electives programs. |

Overnight Camping / Wilderness Survival Learn how to survive an unexpected night in the woods. We will teach you to build a lean-to shelter, build a fire and cook outdoors, use a compass for navigation and some other very important survival skills. This program is great for all ages and is very popular with school field trips and electives programs. |

The Low Ropes Park As opposed to a high-ropes park, our low-ropes park lets you be a tightrope walker, while staying "low" to the ground. (It won't hurt if you fall!) This maze of ropes tests your strength, balance, spacial awareness and coordination. Horizontal rope ladders, suspended ropes and more await you in our new and improved low ropes park! |

Hiking Take a hike! We have a network of hiking trails for your hiking enjoyment and offer everything from short walks through the woods to overnight guided hikes through the NorWester Mountain Range. More advanced trips are reserved for more advanced hikers, but everyone is encouraged to go take a hike! |
|
Rock / Ice Climbing School We offer courses for all rock climbing skill levels. For the non-climber, start out with the basics on our climbing wall, perhaps move onto the tree climb and ultimately onto a rock face. However, learning the proper and safe method of rock climbing, as well as building your own confidence, takes time. All your safety gear is provided for you for your climbs. Call us today for more information on rock (and ice) climbing. |

Team & Trust Building Exercises We have a vast number of games, activities and scenarios set up to force people to work together, improve communications skills and build trust. How hard do you think it is to balance three people on a milk crate? |
|
The ZipLine Our ZipLine can only be described as a "reverse chair-lift" amongst the woods here at the NOC. Like the tree climb, this must be seen to be truly appreciated! Once the snow melts we will get an updated photo for the website. |

Survivor Ropes Course Here is the ultimate in trust: 2 participants form a team. Woven through the trees of the Nor'West Outdoor Centre are nylon ropes; connected to trees and forming a "path" to follow. Participant A is blindfolded and attached to the rope with a caribeaner. Participant B guides his or her friend through the path using verbal directions. It is harder than you think but the most fun you could have! Build your teamwork and communications skills while teaching the importance of trust. Ideal for school electives and field trips. |

Learn the cardinal points, basics of compass use and philosophy of orienteering; then use your skills to take a bearing and navigate yourself from point A to point B... with no GPS receivers to be found! A lot of fun and a great life skill for people of all ages. |
